This document may be issued to a person who is not a citizen of the United Republic of Tanzania and cannot obtain a passport from his country of origin or does not have citizenship of any country for the purpose of travelling outside the United Republic of Tanzania.
Requirements for Obtaining Certificate of Identity
- Police loss report in case the applicant lost his passport and there is no Embassy of his country of origin in Tanzania;
- A written account detailing circumstances in which the passport was lost;
- For applicants born in Tanzania, evidence as to such birth must be submitted;
- 2 passport size photographs.
