The Deputy Secretary for the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ambassador Hassan Simba Yahya has launched the Client Service Charter of the Immigration Department which was held at its premises early February this year.
Ambassador Yahya said that, the Charter which has been launched, is a recognition of the rights for the customers to be served according to the services and standards of the Immigration Department.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Yahya revealed that the Client Service Charter entails service delivery standards especially time for delivering those services, responsibilities of employees in service delivery, and more importantly client’s rights towards services offered by the Immigration Department.
For example in this charter, the Ordinary Passport will be issued within five working days for applications submitted at the Immigration Head Quarters and at Head Office-Zanzibar. And those applicants from the Regional Immigration Offices, they will be issued a passport within ten working days.
In the same development, Ambassador Yahya has also argued the functionaries of the Immigration Department to ensure that, they supervise and implement the Client Service Charter in order to meet the defined objectives.
He has also asked the clients to take advantage of the opportunities available in the charter like their rights, and also to cooperate with the Immigration Department by giving their feedback about service delivery.
